How to Choose a Shower Drain Grate?
When laying your external shower drain an important decision is what grate you want to install on top of the linear drain. As part of the One Channel shower drain you have the option to choose from three different grates including Economy Slotted Grate, Premium SubSlotted Grate and Stainless Steel Wedge Wire. The economy-slotted and premium subslotted grates are made from high-quality Anodised aluminium. The marine grade, annodised aluminium is great for saltwater environments. In addition, the premium subslotted is cleverly designed to handle larger capacities of water due to the weir effect. So if anticipate that you’ll need to manage a higher flow of water, you may need to consider the premium grate. The other option is the stainless steel which offers greater durability than its counterparts and can withstand the harshest conditions. As the external drain is completely modular you can you can cut the drain to your desired length and can add on 90-degree corners, or bottom outlets as required. During the assembly of the drain add clear PVC plumber's glue to secure all joiners, end caps and accessories in place.
The next step is to place a sand cement base down before laying the drain, this is to get your drain to the correct height.
