How to apply Dry Treat™ STAIN-PROOF® sealer?

To apply a Dry Treat™ STAIN-PROOF® sealer, prepare the material's surface to be treated by cleaning off any dirt, dust or debris. Next, apply the sealer to the surface with a brush, roller or sprayer, depending on the product’s instructions. Allow the sealer to dry completely before applying a second coat. After the second coat is dry, you can use the treated material.

How do I know if my surface is still adequately sealed?

To tell if your surface is still adequately sealed, you should conduct a water test. Put a small amount of water on the surface and see if it beads or seeps into it. If the water beads up, the surface will likely remain adequately sealed.

How long does stain-proof take to dry?

The surface needs a pre-seal to hold the STAIN-PROOF® Premium Impregnating Sealer, formerly known as STAIN-PROOF® Original™, closer to the surface. Apply the first layer, then wipe off the extra after ten minutes. Give the product at least one hour — 24 hours is preferable — to cure.
